Decorative Concrete | Green Bay, WIDecorative concrete is becoming wildly popular! Decorative or stamped cement is incredibly versatile and customizable. This is concrete that is patterned or textured to resemble brick, stone, slate, wood, and other various patterns and textures.
Are you looking to add some brick to your walkway or sidewalk but concerned about the amount of work and money it will cost? Decorative cement is a less expensive alternative to using those other authentic materials. The main flaw with decorative or stamped concrete is that it can only be done on newly placed concrete. Decorative concrete is one of the many new ways to add curb appeal to your home. A stamped driveway, walkway, entrance area, patio and more can give your house what it needs to really stand out. Results from using one or both of these techniques can be unbelievable and completely transform the look of your home. Not only can we give the cement some texture or a pattern but it can be colored or stained to creature an even better eye-opening area to your home. Colored ConcreteAlong with concrete stamping, concrete coloring is a great way to add a decorative touch to your outdoor walkways, driveways, and patios. Essentially what we're doing is using pigment and dye to make a color within the concrete mix itself. Our professionals can try to tailor the mixture to be the exact color your are looking to spice up your home compared to the boring gray color.
Stained ConcreteAlthough it may seem very similar to colored concrete, staining can be done to existing concrete surfaces. There are two main methods:
Acid-based stain works by etching into the surface of the concrete. This permits the stain to react with chemical compounds in the concrete creating a permanent color change. Unfortunately most acid-based stains are somewhat limited in earth tone colors but still can give beautiful results that can look like tanned leather or terra cotta walks. Maybe you need a bit more color than the acid stain will provide. Acrylic-based stains come in a wider variety of hues and even in some metallic tones. These stains are also permanent, and can range anywhere from translucent to opaque, depending on the manufacturer and product chosen. Both of these options will not hide flaws in your concrete. Because stains soak in to your concrete and do not sit on top like paint, any patches or cracks will show through the stain. Regardless of your cement needs, call Green Bay's top concrete contractor.
